Sea Salts are chemical compounds that are composed of ions connected to each other by ionic bonds. From the perspective of the theory of electrolyte dissociation, salts are electrolytes that, in an aqueous solution (or in melt), are always dissociated to metal or ammonium cations and acid anions. The electrical charges of positive (cations) and negative ions (anions) are balanced so that the compound does not have a net charge. Salt-composed ions can be both inorganic (Cl-) and organic (CH3-COO-) as well as single-atomic (F-) or multiatomic (SO42-).

Salts, which in hydrolysis form hydroxyl anions are called basic salts, and those that form hydrogen cations – acid salts. The remaining salts are called neutral salts.
